Ma'shumi dianggap sebagai perwakilan kaligrafi terakhir yang masih hidup pada periode Safawi dan Qajar, yang memiliki keahlian khusus dalam seni prasasti. Sebelum Revolusi Islam Iran, dia memainkan peran penting dalam mengoreksi dan menyelesaikan prasasti sejarah, silsilah, al-Qur'an tulisan tangan, dan penyalinan buku berharga dengan cermat di bawah perlindungan Kementerian Kebudayaan pada saat itu. Salah satu murid terkenalnya dalam seni kaligrafi adalah Sayyid Murtada Nujymi, seorang mujtahid Iran dan ahli kaligrafi, yang mendapat izin dari Ma'shumi untuk menandatangani dan menyalin karya-karyanya sendiri. Setelah Revolusi Islam Iran, Najafi Zanjani telah dihormati dan dihargai dalam berbagai kesempatan.

Karya dan Kegiatan

Seni Gaya kaligrafi Ma'shumi, yang dikenal sebagai Aksara Ma'shumi, telah menciptakan koleksi yang mengesankan dengan lebih dari seratus jilid buku. Di antara karya-karyanya ini, terdapat potongan penting seperti lima jilid Al-Qur'an, Safinat al-Bihar dalam dua jilid, Mafatih al-Jinan (yang menampilkan litografi), serta Rasa'il dan Kitab al-Tahara karya Sayyid Husayn Burujirdi, semuanya ditulis dengan indah oleh Ma'shumi Zanjani.

Bakat Ma'shumi sebagai ahli kaligrafi terhormat tidak hanya terbatas pada penulisan buku tradisional. Dia telah menunjukkan keahliannya yang luar biasa dengan mengukir Surat Ikhlas, lengkap dengan tanda tangan dan tanggalnya, ke sebutir beras yang sangat kecil—prestasi menakjubkan yang telah dia raih sebanyak empat kali. Dua dari prasasti beras yang luar biasa ini disimpan dengan hati-hati di perpustakaan Imam Amir al-Mu'minin di Najaf, sedangkan dua lainnya masih berada di Teheran. Selain itu, keahlian Ma'shumi juga dapat dilihat dalam bentuk ziyartnama yang menghiasi berbagai tempat, seperti Kuil 'Abd al-Azim al-Hasani di Shahr-e-Rey, masing-masing dengan tulisan kaligrafi yang fasih karya Ma'shumi.

Selain upaya sastranya, Ma'shumi juga meninggalkan jejak yang tak terhapuskan sebagai ahli prasasti. Bakat artistiknya telah memperindah tempat-tempat suci para Imam dan Imamzada yang dihormati, serta tempat-tempat suci, makam, dan masjid baik di dalam maupun di luar Iran. Contoh penting dari karya-karyanya termasuk prasasti di Abu Ali Sina di Hamadan, prasasti yang memperindah Masjid A'ina di Qom, kaligrafi megah di tempat suci Imam Ridha keempat (as), dan prasasti yang sangat indah di tempat suci Lady Ruqayya (a) di Damaskus. Fadha'il al-Asyhur al-Tsalatsah, Syahru Rajab, Syahru Sya'ban, Syahru Ramadhan (keutamaan tiga bulan Rajab, Sya'ban, Ramadhan ) ialah buku yang berbahasa bahasa Arab berisi sebagian hadis dari Nabi (saw) dan para Imam Syiah dalam kebajikan bulan Rajab, Sya'ban dan Ramadhan oleh Syaikh Saduq (w. 381 H). Buku ini mencakup tiga bab berjudul: "Kebajikan Rajab", "Kebajikan Sya'ban" dan "Kebajikan Ramadhan". Dalam kitab ini, Syaikh Saduq juga mengacu pada mustahab dan amalan tiga bulan tersebut.

Syaikh Saduq telah menyebutkan beberapa dari bab-bib ini secara independen, tetapi ketiga buku ini, karena penulisannya bersama, dikenal sebagai "Fadha'il al-Asyhur al-Tsalatsah" dan telah dianggap sebagai satu buku.

Tentang Penulis

Jumlah Hadits dan Judul Buku

Keutamaan Bulan Rajab termasuk 18 hadits. Nama lain Rajab, amalan Ummu Dawud, kebajikan para ahli Rajab, pahala puasa hari pertama, tengah dan terakhir bulan Rajab dan bersedekah di dalamnya.

Keutamaan Bulan Sya'ban meliputi 33 hadits dalam hal ampunan di bulan Sya'ban, Sya'ban adalah bulan Rasulullah saw, pahala puasa hari terakhir bulan Sya'ban. Keutamaan Ramadhan berisi 102 hadits dalam makna ziarah Allah di Takhta Allah, Dua Iftar, puasa, Bulan Ramadhan dan Alquran, mandi wajib Lailatulqadar dan malam-malam lain bulan Ramadhan, keutamaan malam dan hari Idul Fitri, tamu Allah di bulan Ramadhan dan alasan keunggulan bangsa ini adalah puasa Ramadhan.

Al-Riyadhah dalam pandangan Irfan memiliki defenisi yang berbeda-beda [2] diantaranya melatih diri sehingga perkataan, perbuatan dan niat semata-mata ikhlas karena Allah swt. [[3]] Al-Riyadhah adalah juga jihad akbar sebagaimana yang dikenal, yang amalan-amalannya diantaranya makan sedikit, menghidupkan malam, sedikit berbicara dan senantiasa menyendiri. [4]

Pengaruh dan Hasil

Menghilangkan sifat bakhil, hasad, takabbur, keserakahan kepada dunia adalah diantara pengaruh dan hasil dari al-Riyadhah. [5] Demikian juga mampu melahirkan dan menghasilkan sifat-sifat yang terpuji seperti pemaaf, pemberani, bersemangat, rendah hati dan tunduk pada kebenaran. [6]

Sebagian dari ayat-ayat Alquran, yang oleh Mufassir berkaitan dengan al-Riyadhah [7] diantaranya ayat 40 dan 41 surah An-Nazi'at. Berdasarkan ayat tersebut, barangsiaoa yang takut akan kebesaran Allah swt dengan mengendalikan hawa nafsunnya, maka surga tempat kembalinya. [8] Diriwayatkan dari Imam Ali as, "Barang siapa yang mampu mengendalikan dirinya, maka akan mendapatkan pahala/keuntungan." [9]

Al-Riyadhah yang Terlarang

Selain yang dianjurkan, terdapat pula kategori al-Riyadhah yang terlarang atau tidak syar'i. [10] Seperti misalnya praktik rahbaniyah yang meninggalkan aktvitas duniawi [11], menjadi amalan yang dilarang dalam Islam. [12]

Mulla Shadra berpendapat bahwa al-Riyadhah yang dilakukan sebelum menyempurnakan makrifat (pengatahuan) dan tidak melaksanan amalan-amalan ibadah syar'i adalah sesuatu yang menyimpang. [13] Sehingga ia berkeyakinan, bahwa jika seseorang malas dan lalai dalam melaksanakan ibadah-ibadah syar'i namun melakukan amalan-amalan al-Riyadah maka itu bukan al-Riyadhah yang sesungguhnya, sebab hanya akan menyesatkan dirinya dan menyesatkan orang lain.
